Disobeying the COVID-19 Emergency Law

Disobeying the COVID-19 emergency law could cost you $10 million and one year in jail.  It is simple, stay home or pay up. For those that ignore the Ontario government order to say out of playgrounds, basketball courts, recreational facilities, dog parks risk fines of $750.00 up to $100,000.00 and a year in jail for an individual.  Anyone charged will have to identify themselves if asked by a police officer, special constable, First Nation constable or a municipal bylaw office.  This is all in accordance with the strict legislation used by Doug Ford in a bid to stop the spread of COVID-19. In case of an individual who is a director or officer of a corporation a fine of not more than $500,000.00  and a term of not more than 1 year in prison. In the case of a corporation a fine of not more than $10 million dollars can be charged.  While an individual does not face $10 million  these provisions are aimed at non-essential business who open during an emergency or crisis profiteers.
