Collaborative law is a new and innovative way to deal with separation and divorce. It takes a new approach of trying to work out solutions for each of the spouses for their future rather than dwell on the past and negative forces which divided the couple. In traditional family law advocacy court cases you have two opposing lawyers fight it out, is like trying to pour gasoline on a fire to put it out. Usually the conflict and adversely nature simply enrage animosity between the parties. Rather the new approach with collaborative law has the two party’s lawyer work to find new solutions for the parties rather than divisions. When the lawyers need help on child custody matters or financial matters they can collaborate with family counsellors and coaches and financial planners and accountants. This allows the parties to find solutions that are right for their families and their security.
